El recetario DISCOVER de NumFOCUS (DISCOVER por sis siglas en inglés: Diverse & Inclusive Spaces and Conferences: Overall Vision and Essential Resources, _Espacios y Conferencias Diversas e Inclusivas: Visión General y Recursos Esenciales) es mantenido por el programa DISC (Diversidad e Inclusión en Computación Científica) de NumFOCUS con el soporte de la fundación Moore.

Introducción#

Este recetario quiere ser un recurso para que los organizadores de conferencias y eventos puedan acomodar y fomentar la diversidad e inclusión en estos eventos. Este recetario no intenta dar instrucciones generales sobre como organizar con éxito una conferencia o evento.

Como usar este recetario#

No hace falta que implemente todas las sugerencias que hay en el recetario para que el evento se «califique» como diverso e inclusivo!

El recetario tiene como objetivo ayudaros, en vuestro rol como organizador de eventos, a entender el campo de mejores prácticas para diversidad e inclusión a nivel general.

We encourage you to do as much as you can manage, on the understanding that implementing a few well-supported and fully realized suggestions is preferable to implementing many suggestions that are poorly-supported or incomplete.

To facilitate ease of use, we have highlighted suggestions that are relatively easy to implement and which have a strong positive impact. These are «low-hanging fruit» and marked with a red apple emoji: 🍎.

We also encourage you to do at least one thing in the «High Impact, High Effort» quadrant. These are marked with a green checkmark: ✅.
